Value Added Tax returns for the quarter ended 31 January 2020 should be submitted by Saturday 7 March 2020, and any payment which is due should be made electronically by the same date.
We can e-mail you a green electronic payment advice which gives you the details for making an electronic payment. Green is our standard colour for anything to do with VAT, and in fact we go a step further than this and use emerald green for 31 January quarters, olive green for 29 February quarters and apple green for 31 March quarters, so our files are easy to pick out.
Our software generates a spreadsheet-based VAT report and we will send you a copy. We have been doing this for several years, but the report happens to be just right for compliance with the new “making tax digital” regime.
If you are having difficulties with paying VAT because other people still owe you money and are taking their time to pay you, then some advice on debt collection may be found at

Any bookkeepers in Carlisle or accountants such as David Porthouse and Co can prepare your VAT returns. If we do this, we will give you a 25% discount on your accounts to reflect economies of scale, since once we have done your VAT return, we don’t have to do the work twice to do the accounts.
