Accounts We have experience of preparing accounts for all types of client, including sole traders, partnerships, companies, charities and limited liability partnerships. We have particular experience with limited companies and corporation tax. Basic bookkeeping Many businesses trade only through their bank account. If all you have are bank transactions, then just give us your bank statements and cheque book stubs, and let us do the rest. You may not need to do any bookkeeping at all, and we have very fast methods of dealing with bank statements which mean we actually prefer to do it this way. If you have cash income, then you could just use a basic notebook to record daily takings and cash expenses. You do not need a specialised ledger. Again simplicity is better. VAT returns If we do your quarterly VAT returns, we will try to avoid duplication of work when we come to prepare the annual accounts, and pass the benefit back to you. Our specialist bookkeeping software helps us to do this. It is our policy always to do an independent check when we submit a VAT return under the new Making Tax Digital regime. Tax returns Self-assessment income tax returns sent to HM Revenue & Customs after the October 31st deadline need to be sent electronically, which we are able to do. Payroll and Construction Industry Scheme returns We are able to submit PAYE and CIS returns electronically on your behalf. If you have made any payments to employees or subcontractors for the month from the 6th to the 5th of the following month, then you need to make a Full Payment Submission. If you happened not to have paid any employees or subcontractors, then you need to make a NIL return in the form of an Employer Payment Summary. We can make all the necessary returns for you and we monitor deadlines anyway on our companion website. Businesses with CIS retentions against them may find that a refund is due. We can produce accounts at high speed, get the tax return submitted and verified. We can look on the Revenue website to see things from their point of view and check that it is what we expect, and then we should get a refund as quickly as possible. Business startups and advice We can advise you on the best way to start your business (sole trader, partnership or company) and liaise with HM Revenue & Customs on your behalf. We will be happy to have a discussion about all the basics of getting a letterhead and a website and promoting the business. We can also give assistance with drawing up a business plan. If you have a website, then you could include a business card image so that you show up on graphical search engines: Carlisle Accountants Home Our Services Get a Quote Bookkeeping Tax About Us Contact Us
